All You Ever Wanted to Know About Insurance

The importance and amazing benefits of Walking

It's winter. It's drab. We don't want to go to a gym because we don't want to expose ourselves to Covid-19. What do we do?

Walk.

That's right. Walking.

According to one meta- analysis aggregating 300000 participants walking just 30 minutes a day reduces your chance of coronary heart disease by 19%! You don't have to run or jog to get the benefits of exercise. All you need to do is walk! Just a 15 minute post meal walk lowered blood sugar levels.

If you walk while in a fasted state ( before breakfast) your fat burning is increased. There's no food to spike blood sugar levels which is even better for diabetics.

A simple 30 minute walk can boost your immune system . A Mayo Clinic study of 868 people between the ages 70 to 89 found that those who performed "moderate physical exercise two to five times per week during the ages of 50 to 65 had a reduced risk of mild cognitive impairment".

Walking keeps your brain sharp! Walking just 10 minutes a day can prevent arthritis in the knees, ankles , hips and feet! So how do you get started?

Set yourself a reminder on Alexa or Siri! I wear an Apple iwatch and I love it. It reminds me to stand, move and I can set daily minimum goals for myself to meet. Simply make it part of your daily routine. Remember, just a few minutes a day has big benefits. And don't forget, You'll tend to walk longer if your are listening to an audio book. I'll promise this one from personal experience!

Work walking into your life. You'll feel better and live longer!!
